The Path to Mastership

After over 25 years of training in Songahm Taekwondo, ATA Martial Arts owner and chief instructor Jordan Schreiber earned the rank of sixth degree black belt in June 2007 and was inducted the following June as a Songahm Taekwondo Master.

Mastership is a great honor and a great responsibility. The year that preceded the mastership ceremony required Master Schreiber to follow a strict physical, intellectual and spiritual training regimen. (See this ATA World magazine article for more details on the mastership training process.)

In February 2008, he joined the other Master Nominees in Nevada for workouts with the Masters' Council and a hike up Turtlehead Peak Mountain. In June, 2008, Master Schreiber and the other master candidates fasted for nine days while continuing to train with the Masters' Council.

The mastership ceremony took place on June 27, 2008 during the Opening Ceremonies for the Songahm Taekwondo World Championships in Little Rock, AR.

In 2014, Master Schreiber was inducted as a senior master. Click here to learn more about his preparation.
